How it works

Magnesium supports GABA receptor activity and muscle relaxation; the glycinate form is well absorbed and is gentle on the gut.

Evidence

Several small randomized trials suggest magnesium supplementation may modestly improve subjective sleep measures in adults with low intake or in older adults. Effect sizes are modest and replication is limited.
